Does anyone know the address of Tim Leimert's house in North Hollywood that was used as the setting for MM's photo session with George Barris? (The one with the Jaks pants and Pucci top). Just curious - my hobby is locating landmarks. I assume her background was San Fernando valley and not downtown LA. Also from the attached car picture it looked like a watertower was nearby. I know landscapes change over time, but maybe someone might have an idea where it is. Many thanks!
The address of Tim Leimert 's house is North Hollywood Hills 1506 Blue Jay Way Olfild2-7847.

This friend of George Barris' was a very rich and interesting guy. Marilyn would have liked what he and his family did with Leimert Park in LA. Note that he was once married to actress Joyce Mackenzie who was in Ticket To Tomahawk. Here's a picture of them together from movie. Annette was right about the tower. There is a white water tower on Blue Jay Way as you can see on top of map. The "A" on map is the Leimert house.

Tim Leimert, part of a California real estate family whose developments included Leimert Park in Los Angeles, died Jan. 21 at home of natural causes, his company announced. He was 82.

Born Walter Leimert Jr. in Oakland, Mr. Leimert served as president of the Walter H. Leimert Co. from 1960 to his death. The company is to be led by his son, Walter H. Leimert III.

Mr. Leimert helped develop communities including Beverlywood near Beverly Hills, Sierra Park in Orange County and Cambria Pines near Hearst Castle.

His family's name is best known in Los Angeles for the one-acre park and 600 acres of businesses and homes called Leimert Park.

Mr. Leimert was often the company's spokesman at events in the park, which was given by his father to the city. The area, created by his father in 1927, became the city's African-American cultural center in the 1970s.

Mr. Leimert graduated from the University of California Los Angeles and covered World War II as a radio correspondent for CBS News. He reported on bombing raids on Tokyo in 1944 and on Hiroshima after that city was decimated by an atomic bomb.

Mr. Leimert also was the stadium announcer for UCLA football games for 38 years, and served on the board of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Hane Leimert, two sons and three grandsons.

She and Leimert plan a two-week honeymoon in Mexico City.

Good job on research, Nettie! clapping.gif

I just saw that I posted above a photo of Tim Leimert from this site. I don't know why, but I had not been able to listen to that interview until now.
He talks about his experience living on Blue Jay Way with the beautiful views of the city. He says the Beatles rented a house there as well. And that Charles Mason use to drive up and down that area.

About Marilyn he said she was ditsy (you can hear laughter from the people listening..Jerks)
He said that Marilyn brought him a bottle of champagne when she came over.
She showed up not on the date she said she would, but three days later.
He asked if he could have his picture taken with her, and she said of course.
Later when Leimert asked about his picture with Marilyn, Barris told him he had lost it. ???

Here's the photo and where you can start to listen to him about Marilyn. 35:04:06 minutes
