Hey guys! Just to let you know that 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' among other old classic films, has been digitally restored and remastered for the big screen and is set to tour the UK cinemas and then onto other countries around the world.

I live in Scotland and there's a cinema in Glasgow that specialises in showing old movies, *I've seen All About Eve and Some Like It Hot there as well to name a few* well when I saw 'GPB' was going to be shown, I simply HAD to be there. It was exciting enough the thought of seeing it on the big screen and then to find out it was going to be a digitally remastered version.. and THEN to be told that the screening was the WORLD premiere of the digitally remastered version... wow! I was ready for screaming banana.gif
I know if you're like me, you will have seen GPB 1million trillion times before, but if you do happen to see it coming to a cinema near you, PLEASE go and see it, it was a whole different experience than just seeing it on a TV screen. Seeing Marilyn 50ft tall and in glorious technicolour.. wow. I felt SO proud to call myself a Marilyn fan, the cinema was PACKED, she was definitely the star of the show, she was getting the biggest laughs and it was like I was back in 1953, watching it for the 1st time. I can totally see now, why GPB was the film that catapaulted her into stardom, she was fabulously funny and every inch the goddess. This is nothing I didn't know before of course, but like I said, seeing it on the big screen.. completely different to a DVD, I feel I appreciate her on a much higher level now.
The actual restoration was AMAZING. Just think about how clear and vibrant your copy of the film looks on DVD.. well think how that would look on a huge cinema screen smile1.gif

So, just letting you all know... Marilyn is back on the big screen.. in HD! clapping.gif marilynbybrandon_190.gif

I know GPB will be at the NFT in London next month, and I've also emailed my local independent cinema to ask if they're planning to show it - fingers crossed!

I had the great luck and privilage to watch couple of Marilyn movies on the silver screen-including GPB, Niagara, TPATS and others. They were not the best copies but believe me, there are no words to describe wat it means to see Marilyn's moist lips singing Kiss in Niagara enlarged 800 hundred times on the screen. She was larger than life.it was almost transcendental!
I hope to watch GPB in restored version though I doubt it will be in my local cinema.
