I always think it's fun to see people dressed up as Marilyn. Just for fun, here are some of the (better - I think) impersonators...although of course there will only ever be ONE Marilyn! (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/throb.gif)

Also there's my friend Olga (first picture attached 8.jpg)

And then back a few years ago I was lucky enough to talk with Pauline (second and third pictures pbnew7.jpg and pbnew9.jpg)

And we can't forget a member of Everlasting Star, Suzie Kennedy! (fourth image, suzie.jpg)

And then there's Jimmy James, voice impressionist ... considered the best male Marilyn Monroe. (fifth image jimmy.jpg)

Then there's also Karen (karen1.jpg) and Bettina (bettina.jpg)

Susan is awesome. She can also be seen in "Pulp Fiction" and just recently appeared in the series finale of HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and on NBC's "Elton John's Red Piano Special". She is probably one of the very best and sweetest Marilyn impersonators I've had the pleasure to know! (susang.jpg) and (susangriffiths1.jpg) and (susangriffiths1.jpg)

And my friend Janet Valentine in her Mexican sweater ... 1962 Barris session style. (sweater.jpg)

There is ALWAYS something missing from those impersonators eyes, you know. The eyes, they don't show feelings, quite cold/empty whatever. The best, greatest models, actresses, actors etc.well, they have this special (twinkle, spark)emotion and charisma in their eyes. That something extra special what made them, well, famous, loved, special, stars, you name it.
Sure these wannabe's are "easy on the eyes" but it's only outside, I don't feel that there is anything sensitive, interesting etc.going on inside these good looking women (or some men also)=like there's nothing going on behind fabulous faces.

I'll agree with you many impersonators are missing the X-Factor, that little something extra that Marilyn posessed ... but to say you don't feel there's any more to them on the inside, that they are just easy on the eyes ... I just don't agree. I guess you'd have to know them ... sure they don't always capture a glimpse of Marilyn in their photos, but every once in a great while, a hint of Marilyn emerges from them whether it be on stage, in a photo, or on film.

Never seen before pics of women so similar to Marilyn...If I don't open them in larger version, I can think for just a moment that they are Marilyn's pics.

thanks to all for sharing!!

Thank you for posting those Brandon! I knew there had to be more wonderful impersonators out there! Suzie Kennedy is absolutely gorgeous and Jimmy James definitely has amazing talent with makeup! It's always such fun to see people pay tribute to Marilyn in this way (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/throb.gif) (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/throb.gif) (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/throb.gif)

It's interesting and little funny that maybe the best one of them is Jimmy James,a man.I'm sure that as persons they all are nice but I just don't see Marilyn in them.I see more Marilyn in "everyday women" or Marilyn fans.Yes,I have seen Marilyn lookalikes in real life both in London and USA.It simply wasn't my thing.Didn't move me at all. They were good but I prefer the original one(s,in everything I do).Anyways, these lookalikes make money and give joy to hearts of many Marilyn-fans.

"These girls who try to be me, I guess the studios put them up to it, or they get the ideas themselves. But gee, they haven't
got it! You can make alot of gags about it like they haven't got the foreground or else they haven't the background. But I
mean the middle, where you live. "
-Marilyn Monroe

I love both Suzie and Pauline. I don't know whether any of you have ever seen the British comedy series "Red Dwarf" but in one episode Pauline Bailey appears as a Marilyn Wax-droid come to life along with Elvis, Stan Laurel, Noel Coward and various other famous figures from history.

I enjoy the lookalikes, because they are fun and keep the glamour alive. Most of them are fans as well. But I agree with Rose, you can't bring back Marilyn's star quality by imitation. It would be too calculated. The best impersonators don't try to, but add their own personality instead.

I've seen that episode! I always watch Red Dwarf and was surprised to see a Marilyn impersonator in an episode (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/marilynbybrandon_190.gif)

Frankie Kein has been making a big show of his Marilyn impersonation in Miami, Florida. Here's some links to his videos, judge for yourself. I'm not a big fan of drag, but hey, I have to admit the guy's put some work into the show and in the clips of Diamonds, you get to hear the video go back and forth between Marilyn's actual voice and his impersonation of her voice.
