Hi there gang.

I just wondered if anyone has any pictures or updated history on this once famous property.

I myself live in the Los Angeles area, anytime I ever try to go there to see anything the gate is always closed .

Any recent interior pictures.

Wow! What a great link! I didn't even know that existed. I have been to the house and was lucky enough to arrive at a time when the gate was open, so I got to check out the front yard, but the cleaning lady was there cleaning the guest cottage and she was giving me dirty looks so I didn't stay too long. Just long enough to get some neat photos, but the ones on the link are just as good if not better. Thanks again for the heads up!

I've just uploaded them to the Brentwood photo section. Here is the link:

http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/ind...t=40#entry93607

I hope you like them. They are the best I could do under the circumstances. How great would it be to be able to go there and take your time shooting all the photos you want from anywhere on the grounds! Of course that will never happen, but a boy can dream : ) Here is the direct link to my favorite of the 4 photos I posted. It's a nice little shot of the property.

Take care,

My dear Timothy,

I get very emotional when I see these pictures of Marilyn's house. (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) I am so greatful for you having been there and for you to share them with us who have not. It's a bit heart-breaking to me that everything is still there, here, but she is not; to see some strange woman cleaning her house for some body else. So much is still the same, thank God. I was so upset when I read new owners had removed and replaced her entry gate. And that they joined the guesthouse to the kitchen area, removing a tree she had planted there. So many other things. That's heart-breaking to me too.

You took wonderful pictures. Really precious they are. Thank you very much for sharing.

Love, nettie

I'm glad you liked them Nettie. It was very emotional just being there. I cant articulate it very well, but I definitely felt very special to be there. That whole day will be one I never forget.

The house no longer looks anything like it once did ... the gates are different, the front had a face lift, the inside was totally gutted and remodeled. Not a trace of Marilyn left ... I heard, but can not confirm, that the "cursum perficio" tiles have been removed as well.

Brandon, do you have or can get any pics of what it looks like now? I´ve seen photos from the house from
recent years and it looked pretty much the same ( the outside), except for the gates and a small studio added by the pool.
How sad that the house wasn´t kept as it was and converted into a Marilyn Museum (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/no.gif)
