Does anyone has this DVD or seen the documentary? Is it any good? Is there rare footage on? (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/redsitting.gif)

It is one of the most important docus, made in 1966.
Many following docus take interview footage from that one.
There is a extended version of the DVD, you should try to get that one!

Is the extended version commercially available ?

You can´t get wrong to buy that.

I will write a complete review soon.

Thanks so much Harald! I haven't found the extended version. The DVD I would like to buy is from 2001. Would it be the same as the documentary of 1966? I hope so! (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/banana.gif)

It is an excellent documentary, narrated by John Huston, featuring rare interviews with people like the Bolenders, Marilyn's first foster parents, who are now long gone.

I saw it on TV but am hoping to buy a copy too. I think the 2001 copy you refer to is the extended version, it includes not just the documentary but a featurette on the making of, which is quite interesting. The more recent version is just under an hour long, so I assume it does not have these extra features.

Ou, I'd love to have the extended version! I have the original one and I really enjoyed it. It also has a little interview with the Strasbergs, I believe. I'd say go for it, Marloes! (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

What 'crap' they do say in these documentaries. But I love the footage anyway. I like looking in her house.

I just watched this documentary. I love it for the footage: the interviews with the Bolenders, Norma Jeane's old teacher, Jim Dougherty etc. Even our cat, Obi, watched the documentary with me. Seriously: when Marilyn first appeared he couldn't take his eyes off the television! (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
