Between Marilyn Monroe's two escorts at the White Barn last week-end playwright Norman Rosten and dress king Henry Rosenfeld, we'd say the latter was the one with the stars in his eyes.

Rosenfeld Scents a Reaction

Rosenfeld says a chemise should never be worn to look like a sack. "It must have shape, and that's why every one I make is supplied with a belt."
A model floated past in a cotton Rosenfeld trapeze, and he interrupted himself to say : "Marilyn Monroe bought 20 of them- she's my best friend and customer."

Miss Monroe's Designer Tells All

"Good fabrics, most of them wash-and-wear for summer, and good workmanship give them a high-priced look. That's really the secret," he smiled.
And does Marilyn Monroe buy the same dress at the same prices you sell them in stores ?
"She does and has been for seven years.
You know movie stars have to watch their budgets too. Sometimes I make a style in a different fabric for her. Red is her favorite color and she likes her clothes to show off her figure. "

JFK-Monroe romance

Marilyn Monroe has been having a romance with President John F. Kennedy for almost a year when she died, veteran syndicated columnist Earl Wilson reported this week in a new book.

Marilyn had been trying to arrange another rendezvous with Kennedy through a mutual friend, New York textile manufacturer Henry Rosenfeld, the week she died in Aug. 5, 1962, at the age of 36. She was anxious to go to Washington for the opening of the play, Mr. President, using Rosenfeld as a cover date to get together with Kennedy.

Rosenfeld, who was a Monroe confidant, said, according to Wilson, the film star was in love with the president but he did not think the affair was important to the chief executive.

Wow ! It's been a long time since I read some of my Marilyn books. I never knew they were that close. I wonder why we have no pictures of them ? Not even one.
