1946: Norma Jeane walked through the gates of 20th Century-Fox for the first time. Cameraman, Leon Shamroy, shot a 100-feet roll of silent, color film stock that became her first screen test.

1962: Marilyn attempted to call Robert Kennedy several times, both at his private number and through the Justice Department switchboard. Phone records bare out the fact.

Nope... the pic you are showing is indeed from a press conf. with Laurence Olivier for the Prince and the Showgirl but this conf. was held in London just right before the filming.

What you are looking for is the "broken strap" conference (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/wink3.gif) I have some pics at home, I'll try to post them tonight (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

Born Berneice Inez Gladys Baker, July 30, 1919- To Gladys and Jasper (Jap) Baker. Berneice is the surviving half sister of Norma Jeane...
"The first time I saw Norma Jeane's face, was in a blurry junior high school portrait, that came with a letter from the sister I'd never known."

Berneice and Norma Jeane/ Marilyn had different father's, but shared the same mother, a mother whose mental illness affected both of her daughter's.

"The whole world knew about it before I did....we had been traveling for 2 days in a car with a broken radio" on learning of her sister's passing. "She died with the phone in her hand, honey...she must have been tryin to call you." ~Niobe Paris~ sister in-law

Berneice was the dear sister to Norma Jeane/ Marilyn.........
She and Marilyn tried their best to guard and protect their dearly loved mother, in her fragile state. Love is Eternal

Wishing Berneice Baker Miracle a beautiful day......Happy Birthday Berneice.

1962: Marilyn called Henry Rosenfeld regarding her plans for a three-day New York trip in early September. She planned to give a dinner party in Washingtion D.C., and wanted Rosenfeld to be her escort at the opening of the Irving Berlin musical "Mr. President." She had ordered a $6,000.00 gown from Jean-Louis for the occasion. Editor's Note: The gown mentioned here is the one that Donald Spoto, in his book Marilyn Monroe: The Biography, says was purchased for her upcoming re-marriage to Joe DiMaggio. He also cites the fact that she had ordered champange and foodstuffs which he claims were to be used at the reception.
----Marilyn invited Whitey Synder and Marjorie Plecher to her home to celebrate the couples engagement and the fact that they would all soon be going back to work on the set of "Something's Got to Give."
