I have bought this book which is based on personal memories of the author and people like Richard Avedon, Elliot Erwitt, John Bryson, Philippe Halsman, Bert Stern, Douglas Kirkland, Lee Strasberg and has extracts of interviews.

It's similar to the book Conversations with Marilyn but I like it much more because of the lovely memories each of them had of her.

I have read the half of it yet but I can say it's def. one of my personal favorites.

If someone plans to buy it, it's worth each penny (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/thumbup1.gif)

I just ordered a copy from Abebooks ... it cost £7 + postage from the US. I cannot wait to get it, I've been looking for months but they always go too high on Ebay.

Grrr ... I ordered this book on May 13, contacted them yesterday and they said it was not posted until May 24, and will take 7-28 days. Very annoying!

I finally got this and have read most of it. It was so worth the wait! It's wonderful, one of the very best books I've read on MM. It includes articles by people who knew and worked with Marilyn (Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Philippe Halsman, Doug Kirkland, Bert Stern, Norman Rosten, Edith Sitwell, Isadore Miller), and two interviews with MM from 1962. (One is the famous Meryman article, the other was for Redbook magazine.) It's a true appreciation of Marilyn as an artist and a human being, and puts other 'studies' in the shade. Of course we all look for different things in a book, but I feel very glad to have found it, and I'm sure I'll still love it in another 20 years! Okay, after reading what you think about it, Tara, I really want to have it. It's so nice to read or hear people's memories about Marilyn. Thats why I'd really love to have books like Conversations with Marilyn, An Untold Story, the Susan Strasberg one, etc. I could find the book on the internet, but the only problem is my parents don't buy online.
