Hmmmm, hard to say because in her films her talent was squashed and boxed by Fox. It would have been sooooo wonderful if she had been able to fulfill her contract with Fox and move on to better and more meatier roles without the dumb blonde box. Having said that, I'd have to say (it's hard to pick 1 film!):
Some Like it Hot Bus Stop Something's Got to Give (if only...) Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Don't Bother to Knock It's hard to pick 1!!!!!! |

I like "Gentlemen prefer Blondes" and "Some like it hot" the most. (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/thumbup1.gif)
I just love how Jane and Marilyn got along, this movie is pure fun and when Marilyn has her big moment on screen with "Diamonds are..."....it´s just perfect....I just get tears in my eyes, when I see it. What a wonderful woman she was. I don´t know if I´m the only one, who gets this reaction at some parts in her movies. (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/jumpymm.gif) And in "Some like it hot" I could always burst into tears, cause I have to laugh so hard about Marilyn, Jack and Tony.... I don´t like "We´re not married" and "There´s no business...." that much....I just find the stories boring and I´m only watching the scenes with MM in it... It really IS hard to pic just one...in no particular order:
GPB - the chemistry between MM and Jane Russell is amazing (and MM has some super cute line deliveries) SLIH - it's just too too funny Bus Stop - one of her best acting roles, she's so vulnerable and tender and yet so tough. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
I'd like to shake hands with whoever voted There No Business Like Show Business. I haven't even watched that yet, the idea of listening to Ethel Merman for a complete film is too off putting. Ethel Merman and fog horn belong in the same sentence. |
