Just a side note Alex--and anybody else who cares,haha--in my english class this semester the professor went around the room and asked everybody a little about themselves and what their philosophy of life is and mine of course, is to "have self esteem, don't be stereotypical, walk around like you're a movie star, practice your autograph, and refer to yourself in the third person!" So I do that too! Might seem a bit cocky but it is just a habit and I never knew Harlow did it too, as well as MM--thanks for that info!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Did you know that Ethel Kennedy, Bobby's wife wanted Marilyn to portrait her in a movie( which was finally ne ver produced I think)? That is true irony. I wonder if it was really Ethel who was making those calls to Marilyn- "Leave Bobby alone, you tramp! Leave Bobby alone." :( Did you know that Some Like It Hot, perhaps MM's most famous movie, was voted the funniest comedy ever? This post has been edited by abeautifulchild: Apr 29 2008, 05:45 AM |

Wow! Interesting:
- Actor Colin Farrell has admitted that, as a child, he would put sweets under his pillow for Monroe when she came down to visit from heaven. - Marilyn's features are copyrighted to her estate, and are not allowed to be copied exactly |

Haha! I've read that too. Apparently he's a big fan. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye1.gif) And, the copyright thing, thats why Franklin Mint can't have Marilyn's beauty spot on the right side, because of copyright.

*For one day the town of Monroe, New York was renamed Marilyn Monroe
* Rock Hudson was offered a part in Bus Stop (later played by Don Murray) but refused- he later confessed that he was too ashamed because he had once made a pass at Milton Greene and the offer had been turned down |

You're welcome, Bobby. Another fact, but only loosely related (more like a Miller trivia):
He and Inge Morath had a son in 1966, who suffered Down syndrom and was institutionalized shortly after birth. Imagine Marilyn doing something like this?Miller was a cold man. Interesting article on this http://www.vanityfair.com/fame/features/2007/09/miller200709 This post has been edited by magda24: May 18 2008, 12:15 PM |

Marilyn was forbidden by Arthur Miller to lock the door to the bathroom in their house after her suicide attempt

I didnt think Milton Greene actually 'controlled' Marilyns money at that time because she wasnt actually getting any due to being suspended by the studio. It was his money he was giving her as well as her expenses and room at the hotel she lived at.
On the subject of animals I read in one of my books that she used to pay the fishermen to put back the little fish that were no good to them. |

Did you know?...Norma-Jeane's wedding dress from her marriage to Jim Dougherty was worn by half-niece (?) Mona Rae on her very first date, after some adjustments by Berniece.

Did you know that...
...famous Moon of Baroda , 24-carat diamond Marilyn wore around her neck during one photosessions, was widely believed to have brought misfortune to all of its wearers in its 500 years story (IMG:http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh305/mads_2008/36_1_.jpg) |

When Marilyn married Jim O'Dougherty they went sometimes horse-riding and Marilyn asked Jim how can the horses see in the dark. Jim answered:"They have small lightbulbs in their ears, and when it comes dark, the small lights turn on." Jim was amazed that Norma Jeane kind of believed this.
(Well, I don't blame Marilyn; when I was seventeen, I asked my boyfriend what is the most common way of dying on this planet and he answered: Being eaten by a crocodile. And I completely believed him.) |
