Hi everyone on ES! I come here very often but I haven't posted in a really long time. I thought it would be nice to share some projects I've been involved in with other Marilyn fans! I hope you like these, and I hope to get better at all of this! Thanks for taking a look (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

These dresses were made by me for Madame Tussauds Hollywood. I especially loved making the red sequin dress for the Lorelei Lee wax figure. The seated "handprints" Marilyn is an outside figure made in fiberglass, if anyone here is in the LA area she is outside as a free photo opportunity just about every day the attraction is open. I've made her a few dresses now and even the wigs she wears! Both hairstyles by me. Being that she is outside she requires more attention (hair restyling, wardrobe cleaning) than other figures. Actually both the figures get a lot of attention (and cuddles hehe). Love working with the Studios team at MTH!

This is a simple 'inspired' version of the "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" costume I sell on my Etsy shop LoveForNorma. I would like to someday make a more accurate version of this gown.

Another simple 'inspired' dress, this time from "The Seven Year Itch", also on Etsy.

Before I was able to dress Marilyn at Tussauds, I made a version of the Dorothy Jeakins "handprint ceremony" dress for my YouTube channel and Etsy store where I show how I recreate Marilyn's 1953 hairstyle. Here's a link to the hair tutorial: Marilyn Monroe Hair Tutorial

Recently I've also gotten into making dresses for the Franklin Mint Marilyn Monroe vinyl dolls. I like to think my versions of the dresses are a little closer to the originals than what FM made, even though their designs look great. I sold the red dress on eBay a few months ago, was sad to see it go. Would love to try other designs!

And finally, I've been learning how to paint. This has been a lot to learn but I am very interested in putting it to use. This is not connected to Tussauds, this is my own personal project on a mannequin I bought at Roxy Display in LA. On the left is what the mannequin looked like before, and on the right was the progress some time ago. Knowing more about painting now I can see things I want to improve on, but I think it's coming out okay so far. Thanks to the artists at MTH I've received great constructive criticism on how to improve. The blue "cap" is the template for the lace front wig I'll be making, and then I'll also make a hopefully very detail accurate replica of Marilyn's "The Seven Year Itch" gown. I'm also hoping to find another great Marilyn mannequin to completely makeover, would love if anyone here knew where to find one! Thanks!

Also I would love to connect to more Marilyn fans on social media!

Hi, happy to see you posting here! Your work is just stunning. The Madame Tussaud's dresses look very much like the real thing. I also love the idea of the handprints Marilyn. You've also done a great job with the mannequin - she looks much more like Marilyn now. Thanks for posting these (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

Thank you so much! (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/throb.gif) I hope to be completely done with the mannequin in the next few months. Will post more on that progress later (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)
