It doesn't look like Jack Lemmon to me. He looks more like Tony-Randall. I am not saying he is though.

Statistically, a lot of people think it was taken in 1950 but up until recently, I actually realised that this Jack portrait was taken in 1948 (I am a human Jack encyclopedia - well, I have a few books, haha!). I've always been strongly convinced that it's Jack in the skeleton photo and the guy in the middle looks like Aldo Ray. I don't think it's Tony Randall because he has a different profile to the guy in the skeleton photo, although the slight likeness is...likely! But I still think it's Jack Lemmon.
This was so hard to find a similar 'pose' from my caps! lol ![]() I'm hoping the second picture from this skeleton session will appear online somewhere in a clearer/bigger quality. (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) If I am completely wrong and it turns out to be Tony Randall, I will....force myself to watch Harry Potter or something as a punishment lol. |

Sorry Becky, but it really looks like Tony Randall to me. The nose is all wrong for Jack. I can think of worse punishment than Harry Potter! Others may disagree though. (As i'm sure others have) i did search through all of 1950,'51 and '52 Colliers (in .PDF) and unfortunately did not see "skeletons'. I have emailed Colliers Magazine requesting some assistance in solving this minor mystery. |

I just got back today from a trip to meet with John Florea's daughter. She was showing me through an old photo album and there were pictures in it of Aldo Ray, who it turns out was her godfather! Ray was very good friends with her dad. This connection seemed too much a coincidence to me, making me think perhaps it really is Ray in the photo, so I showed it to her. She said the man in the middle is definitely not Aldo Ray.
I personally believe that these men are nothing more than models hired for the shoot, just as Marilyn was at the time. She thought so, too. |

MM...Maybe if numerous ES members request the same info ? http://colliersmagazine.com/contact-colliers I've also contacted them, Grant, but all I received was an automatic response saying "thank you for writing" but no other response. Collier's went out of business in 1957 and has only recently been revived by American Brands. I wonder how much information they'll have about the older publications. |
