I think the dark haired woman is Sylvia Barnhart, does anyone know who the blonde one is?

Perhaps another hair model? She seems to have quite an elaborate hairdo, like MM.

You're probably right, I didn't even notice they look almost identical. (The hairdos, that is) (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/thumbup1.gif)

The picture on the right seems to say: "This was one of the first pictures of Marilyn Monroe. Taken at a Hairshow that I received an award for.". That could make sense if you read this:

"One afternoon in 1946, Snively sent Norma Jeane to Frank & Joseph's Beauty Salon to have her hair done for a modeling assignment for Rayve shampoo. Frank & Joseph's had built a solid reputation by styling the hair of such Hollywood notables as Rita Hayworth, Ingrid Bergman, starlet Judy Clark, and even professional wrestler Gorgeous George.

On that day in 1946, a timid Norma Jeane walked into the salon and asked if something could be done to make her look better for her shampoo shoot that evening. Tint technician Sylvia Barnhart and shop owner Frank immediately set out to straighten Norma Jeane's hair, which Barnhart has described as "brown and kinky.""

According to my information two of the men are Frank and Joseph Freidericks, owners of the salon. The lady is Helen Hunt, hair stylist at Columbia Pictures from the late 1930s till the late 1960s, who would also be Marilyn's hair stylist in The Ladies of the Chorus and also the owner of a beauty salon in Beverly Hills, which Marilyn at least sometimes visited.

Thanks Lasse! Much appreciated. I wonder if she's related to HH the actress, they look kind of similar in a way...Thanks for the ad Megan. So their salon was called (The House of) Frank & Joseph, and the salon this was photographed was The Wave?(found another post about this) Maybe The Wave was Helen Hunt's salon.

Edited to add: Oh, this is Helen Hunt, the hair stylist...

so not the blonde woman.
Lasse did you mean the dark woman was Helen Hunt and the blonde one Sylvia Barnhart?

That's the same woman I tried posting a picture of, thank you Suus.
So the hat-woman is Sylvia Barnhart, and the blonde one, possibly another hair model. : )

No, it's likely Marilyn. I think the first picture looks like her anyway, and I doubted the second one too. But it's probably her.

I mean the woman standing behind Marilyn in the first picture I posted. It can't be Marilyn, as she's standing behind Marilyn : )
Thanks for all your help here, everyone. I'm working on a project involving pictures like these, so I'm a bit obsessed about details at the moment.
