This is to be smeared over our screens again tomorrow night, Thursday 5th January [sorry for the short notice - I've only just spotted it] on UK FreeView Channel 14, 'More4', 10pm to 12.30am.
The blurb is interesting. "True Stories - Marilyn, the Last Sessions' A tour of Marilyn Monroe's psyche that gets you closer than the recent movie MWWM, using tapes of her sessions with pyschoanalyst Dr. Ralph Greenson. It's an intense film, reflecting Greenson's acute fascination with her enigmatic, tragic state - he gave up her other patients to focus on 'my child, my pain, my madness'. The Channel has the cheek to bill this as a 'One-Off Documentary'. |

I did get to watch this the other night there was some interesting dialogue between Greenson and Marilyn while they were was talking, she did not seem distressed while she was talking about certain things about herself, infact she seemed quite relaxed when talking.
The only thing that made me cringe from the documentry was it painted Marilyn as quite sad and vulnerable towards the last few months of her life, according to Minor's recollection of the Tapes Marilyn enjoyed having casual affairs with any stranger that she encountered while she was out, and sometimes she enjoyed being caught. The version I saw also took the infamous fake "sex" tape as fact. |

Of cause it's obvious - and it has been a well known fact for 30 years, so ones that did that doc certainly haven't done their homework on the subject, how sloppy.

'Marilyn : The Last Sessions' is being shown (again) on 'BIO' channel here in 'Oz.

I have seen this many many times and always catch something new, of course the doctors comments (if correct) are taken out of context and some just made up. It's unfair to use her voice from interviews to give what is said any validity. Honestly the only real part of this that I love is the music! Wish I could have the soundtrack to it.
