Does anyone know anything about Bob Crane and his interview with Marilyn on his morning radio show in Los Angeles in the 1950's. This is what I found online:

In 1956, at the age of 28, he hit the big time. CBS radio in Los Angeles hired him as the morning drive time personality. After a tame start, the rating spiraled up, as did Crane's salary. Crane hobnobbed with stars interviewing countless celebrity guests, including Jerry Lewis, Bob Newhart, Jonathan Winters, Marilyn Monroe, Jane Mansfield, Frank Sinatra, and Ronald Reagan.

I had never heard of this before and was wondering if anyone else can verify it. And, if she was a guest, is there a tape?

He was great on Hogan's Heroes. Unfortunately, when I see his name, I remember he died a horrible violent
death. His murder was never solved and remains a Hollywood mystery. There was someone implicated, but
it was never proven.

I think it's from 1961. They're in her dressing room at Fox. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbup1.gif)

There is only about a two-minute snippet of their interview at the Museum of Radio and Television in New York City. There might be a copy at the Museum in Los Angeles as well. It was a "best of" type compilation and Crane himself admits that they can't find the remaining minutes of her interview at the beginning of the show.

From what I remember, Crane is at Fox doing a "live" broadcast and Monroe comes in out of breath from rehearsing a number for "Let's Make Love". Small amount of nothing chit-chat and Crane mentions that he auditioned for the Tony Randall part. Marilyn let's out a laugh and they banter back and forth about it.

End of tape.

Anyone can make arrangements to hear this and many more radio shows and view many television programs at the museums. They've got incredible staff to help you.

And that is Monroe in her dressing room, she's just not in make-up and wearing street clothes.

Crane is also buried at Westwood Cemetery.

Crane's radio program was one of the top shows in the early '60s.

Just some background on his show...

Crane moved his family to California to host the morning show at KNX radio in Hollywood. He filled the broadcast with sly wit, drumming, and guests such as Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, and Bob Hope. It quickly became the number-one rated morning show in the LA area, with Crane known as "The King of the Los Angeles Airwaves."

Thanks, that's great. I'm going to see what else I can find out about it. I go to NYC often enough that I might be able to make a stop there.

Curious, have you heard the interview yet? Since it has been confirmed by others (Crane himself even), that she gave one.

One look at the picture is enough. The shape of the body, head and face of the woman in the photo is not Marilyn's.
Nor did Marilyn ever wear (her) clothes like that, nor would she ever have done so.

Furthermore, I seem to recall that this picture has been dealt with before, somewhere, and someone identified this woman as someone else than Marilyn.

There was another photo of Crane with a blonde thought to perhaps be Marilyn, there is a picture investigation thread about it... here
At the time I thought it was Marilyn, but I don't anymore.

Is this the photograph you're thinking of, Lasse?

That's so weird. Of course I see of those pictures in other thread that she isn't Marilyn, but that one picture is so Marilyn looking and I rarely mistake with photos. But perhaps I have to believe that she isn't Marilyn.

I'm sticking with it's Marilyn. True, it doesn't look like the MM we're used to seeing, but why would Fox allow Bob Crane and some woman named Eve Six to pose for a photo in MM's dressing room?

As Crane states in the interview that MM is literally coming from a dance rehearsal, I can see why her clothes and hair would be disheveled and wearing no make-up. As for the body type, during LML, Monroe wasn't exactly a "thin slip of a girl" to begin with.

Y'all might disagree, but it's Monroe.
