Hi everyone,

I have been interviewed on the wonderful My Marilyn podcast. I've added a link with details of how to listen, and you will hear my distinctive London accent at 15:48 minutes into the latest show!

I absolutely am dying to buy this book! I can't wait to read a Marilyn novel that is actually factually accurate (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Hi all

"With her enchanting novel, 'The Mmm Girl', Tara Hanks has placed herself in Marilyn's dinky stillettos to give her the voice that she was so often denied in life ...in her bright, colourful style, Hanks retells Marilyn's story with tender empathy and imaginative flair." -- Mad About Marilyn, March 2008

An interview with me appears in the latest issue of the Mad About Marilyn fanzine, out now. The magazine also includes vintage articles and up-to-date news. For more info and details on how to join, go here:

''Wonderful...so close to Marilyn's life that you almost believe you are reading her own memoir...a real gem.''

Thanks! I'm very happy about the reactions to The Mmm Girl, especially from fans. It really pleases me when people pick up on the thoughts and feelings in my book, because I always wanted it to be much more than just another retelling of Marilyn's life story.

I just finished reading this and Tara, I must say that I adore your book! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/throb.gif)

It was much better than I expected, and I didn't want it to end at all. I loved the way you described Marilyn doing just normal things that everyone else does, too! : ) I got the same feeling as reading Michelle's book too; you showed the human Marilyn, and I think everyone should read The Mmm Girl, even though they are not fans. Especially the ones who really know only about the public Marilyn.
It's a shame that the book isn't mine, it's my friend Nella's (who won it from Magical Marilyn's contest) : ( But I'll be definitely buying it some time!

Over the past few months I've read several books about Marilyn, fiction and otherwise. Most have been depressing rubbish, and an insult to the reader and Marilyn's memory.
Not this one.
Tara has delightfully caught the 'essence' of Marilyn and brought her to life.
'The Mmm Girl' is written with knowledge, affection and respect for Marilyn.
Thank you, Tara.

Thanks so much Alan! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I have some news on upcoming events...I will be reading from The Mmm Girl at the next ABCtales evening in St Michael's Hall, Brighton, on July 5th at 8pm. It is part of the Clifton, Montpelier and Powis Festival, and other local authors will also be reading. Tickets cost £3 (£2 concessions), and I will be signing copies of The Mmm Girl as well. If any of you live nearby and fancy a night out in Brighton, it will be great to see you there!

Tara, I want this book SO BAD! I can't find it anywhere, at bookstores in the US that is, and I don't order stuff offline....I know we're friends on facebook so maybe we can work something out over that? Or if you could tell me maybe if you know any bookstores that I would be able to order it through?

None of what I said makes sense but I've gotta buy this book! : )
