I agree with Sirkku's review: One of the best things about this book is the new information and interviews!
That's why it's a must have (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink3.gif) !
Hope you love it, Michael.

I agree with most, this book is truly sensational - one of my first and definately my favourite so far!

I must read it again, there was so much information to absorb! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

Hello

I am really happy to say that I am now working on a revised edition of the book, which (if I have my way!) will include more interviews, stories and memories than ever before. My agent is approaching the publisher as we speak, and my fingers are crossed that they will say yes to publishing a paperback edition in the next few years.

I am contacting many people who knew Marilyn and her family and have already uncovered lots of previously unknown information from the likes of Bill Pursel (who I interviewed last time - but this time it is much more indepth).

If you know anyone who would like to help, or if you would like to help in any way, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks so much and hope to hear from you soon. My email address is CaroleLombard@sky.com

Thanks and take care!

Love
Michelle

This is wonderful news! It's good to know that an author with integrity is interviewing people who knew Marilyn and making the information available to her fans. Best of luck, Michelle!

Hi Everyone

I just wanted to give you an update on the latest goings-on with my book....

I am busy working on the revised edition as we speak and my agent is currently talking to the publisher about it... If they decide to publish the revised edition that will be a dream come true for me and you'll be the first to know if and when I hear the news! If they decide not to publish it, we'll be going to other publishers, so all will hopefully work out just the way I want it to.

I have been gathering lots of new information and conducting more interviews. I have reinterviewed Bill Pursel in great depth and have got lots of great stuff. His existing stories about his friendship with Marilyn have been looked at in a lot more depth than before and he has shared lots of his feelings which are sweet, sad and touching. I have also been able to find others who can confirm Bill's friendship with Marilyn and am in the process of interviewing them as we speak. Just last night I spoke to a lady who modelled at the same time as Marilyn and loved her very much - she was great to talk with.

I shall continue to uncover new and rare information as it's such an important part of my work and also it gives me a HUGE buzz to talk to people who actually knew Marilyn. As most of you know I've been a fan since 1985 when I was just 15 years old; have collected photos and other memorabilia since that time; and have a book collection of over 200 books. Oh - and my dad also made me a replica 12305 Fifth Helena Drive house when I was in my twenties, so yes, I'm a huge, huge fan and it has always been my biggest intention to write about Marilyn in a new and interesting way. That was the intention with the first book (and I'm pretty sure I succeeded judging by the emails I recieve!) and this is my goal with the second one.

I don't know when the revised edition will be published but I will definitely let you know. In the meantime the first edition is still available at bookshops and libraries if you'd like to see a copy.

Take care everyone and I'll be in touch!

Love
Michelle

Good luck Michelle for the second edition
I have a question : it seems that it was most easily to have details about her when she was young that after she became Marilyn ?
It's strange, no ?

Hi Chris

You're right, people who knew Marilyn before she was famous are a lot easier to talk to than those who knew her afterwards. I'm not sure why that is - maybe because they don't feel that you want anything from them, whereas the people who knew her afterwards are automatically quite suspicious of people who start asking questions. It's a good point Chris - and it is quite frustrating sometimes because I just wish everyone would speak to me, regardless of who they are! I just want to get to every single person who knew her, but of course that is just a dream!

Love
Michelle

I think that's only a good thing! I have far too many books about Marilyn in her famous years. I want to know everything about before she was famous. Your're doing a great job, Michelle (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/clapping.gif) (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/balloon.gif)

Very exciting news! I wish you lots of luck with the new edition. I really love your book, honestly it's one of my favorites ever, and will definitely be among the first to order the new edition when (not if) it comes out.
I think it's actually very positive that you've been able to reach people who knew her before she became Marilyn Monroe. Somehow that's more interesting to me. Keep up the good work (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

I'm also very happy to hear this; your both books Michelle , the first edition and the new one in preparation are a great achievement and a project! I wish the new one great luck, not just the Marilyn-fan-world needs these books, but without them, there would be a significant gap in knowledge about an important person in our culture, globally.

I enjoyed reading "Private and Undisclosed" - but one thing, would it be too impossible to publish prints of it someday in paperback edition?
This is just IMO, paperbacks are so handy to have with you....But nevertheless, the hard cover is just as swell, too.

I think it's a great thing too. People who knew Marilyn before she was famous (or as a starlet) very rarely have an axe to grind - they see Norma Jeane the person and Marilyn Monroe the movie star as two very different people. Most of the people I have interviewed from before she was famous haven't even watched her movies because they feel they don't know that person at all! Also, people who knew Marilyn after she was famous, know her in a different way because as soon as they meet her they are aware that she is a star, whereas the others saw her as an everyday person because that's what she was!I love speaking to people who knew her before the big time - it really does make me buzz inside! So exciting!!!LoveMichellexxx

Hi Everyone

I am happy to report that the updated version of Marilyn Monroe: Private and Undisclosed is coming along well. The story will still be the same (obviously!) as the hardback version, but there will be new information and interviews scattered throughout. I am just waiting to hear if the publisher is definitely going to publish it, and you'll be the first to know when I hear.

In the meantime I have created a FaceBook page dedicated to my writing. It is called The Official Michelle Morgan Author Page and I decided to create this page as many people ask to become my 'friend' through reading my work but for personal reasons I prefer to keep my FaceBook account for people I know or have been in contact with for some time. So I have created this page so that readers can keep in touch with me and hear all about my writing news in the future. Feel free to join and invite others if you want to!

Love
Michelle
