Thanks to everyone who has posted scans so far, especially Bobby for posting pics from the Travilla exhibition. I missed it when it was at the Fashion Museum in Bath. :(

Here are some scans from Dressed: A Century of Hollywood Costume Design by Deborah Nadoolman Landis. It's expensive but an absolutely beautiful and comprehensive book if you're at all interested in costume design. These are all the Marilyn designs and they're quite big.

Q. Does anyone have any Dorothy Jeakins sketches for Niagara?

Awesome! I don't recall seeing the white fur on the cherry Misfits dress, though. It looks gorgeous! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Marilyn used a white stole with the cherry print dress. I agree that the fitted jacket would have been beautiful, too.

I've seen tire spelled like that before. I think it's British. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile1.gif)

jemaniac's right, that's the British spelling but the Marilyn spelling mistake is embarrassing, isn't it? And to think that they're selling those as posters! Oooops.

About the dress in that poster, does anyone know of the event she wore the dress to? I don't recognise it.

Thank you Suusmarie. I've never that one before. It's lovely!

There was an issue of "Antiques Explorer" magazine from August last year which had a feature about the Travilla exhibition. I scanned in the designs in as high-res as I could.
