Travilla's drawings are so gorgeous! I want to print them all out, frame them and hang them all over my walls. Works of art!

Interesting fact:

Marilyn was not the first one to wear that famous Jean Louis design.
Before she sung "Happy Birthday" in that sheer sparkly dress, Louis had designed several versions of it for Marlene Deitrich's caberet show 10 years earlier.
There are many versions of the dress...in black, biege, pink, white and silver.

Jean Loius dressed Marilyn in the Misfits and Somethings's Got To Give.

Other great films include: A star is born, Pal Joey, Imitation of Life, Pillow Talk, Suddenly, Last Summer...and many many more. (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/thumbup1.gif) (IMG:http://www.everlasting-star.net/boards/style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)

Billy Travilla's work include:

Almost all of Marilyn's significant films, Valley of the Dolls, Evita Peron for Tv, and Streetcar named Desire for Tv.

I can't believe Travilla was never hired to make costumes for better films!
He was a genius!
His best work is in Mairlyn's films...so it baffles me why he wasn't hired for other great movies!

A 1962 drawing by Donfeld for a project never done. 'A Loss of Roses' was a play by William Inge (who also wrote the play BusStop) which ran on Broadway in 1959. Perhaps a film-version was in the making when MM died...

I have these three in one of my folders but have no information on them. Especially the purple one. Would anyone know about this sketch?
